Last week Phoenix police lieutenant Lauri Burgett got sodomized by the OIG with one of their investigations.
The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) returned and asked Lauri for an accounting on how she spent the $1.7 Million dollars in HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas).
Of the $1.7M some of the major dollar expenditures include:
- A new police car for Lauri Burgett – and she’s the only one who appears to have received one!
- Overtime pay for Lauri Burgett!
Lauri’s earnings in prior years were:
2008 - $175K
2009 - $198K
and last year in 2010 Lauri Burgett’s W2 was in the range of $240K.
- And one rifle.
Yeah - pretty crazy! And cops wonder why they get no respect when they blatantly and publically lie, steal, and abuse their powers like Lauri Burgett.
Kidnappings have gone down, the 2008 stats are fake, but in the same time frame we paid a Phoenix police lieutenant $65K in additional monies with dollars earmarked for kidnapping...or in this instance she paid herself! Little else was spent in the areas of support or defense of actual kidnapping. Sounds to us like Lauri Burgett got $1.7M of fun money for a personal spending spree of cars, pay and trips. Now we know why Lauri Burgett lied and fabricated the kidnapping stats and had it out for the whistleblower, Phil Roberts.
There's no plausible deniability here either. Amazingly in the Fall of 2010 via a recorded investigation, Lt. Lauri Burgett admitted she knew back in 2009 that stats were fabricated, but she still thought it was right to spend money in 2010 on a new car and a 37% raise. Lauri Burgett raped the city of Phoenix in overtime working on kidnappings that didn't exist, with no oversight or accountability.

Ironically, Phoenix police Lt. Lauri Burgett spent the money on a vacation to England to discuss of all things - fraudulent stats that never happened and how she got $1.7M in funding by labeling Phoenix the kidnapping capital of the world.
Those limeys must have actually thought they were speaking to someone who knew something about kidnappings, when all they got was a dumbass from Phoenix on a federally funded vacation with a lying Jack Ass chief.
Man...we live in a fucked up city when city council, the mayor, the police chief and the city manager's office allow this to happen - and Phil Roberts still has one of the shittiest jobs in the Phoenix PD. We sure hope there are some criminal indictments from the Feds.

Blogger Jeff. Please help put the pressure on the detectives that are working the nicole glass and Melissa mason murders. Everyone knows it was Melissa mason was pregnant by a guy that was married with a wife and kids. Some are saying she told him and he killed her. Talk to nicole mom she is fed up with these detectives she will help.
And here you have it.....this is the whole reason we have this grant money mess......greed.....what dirt does she have on her bosses????? She made at least 300k in overtime from this.....sounds like fraud to me.........I guess having the Mayor's cell phone number isn't going to help her now. I can't believe she hasn't been removed from her command....

Let me get this straight: Lauri Burgett had a vido business with Andy Hill and another video guy, and their main focus was to video tape kidnappings?

...A question that continues to pop up is: What would be the reason to inflate kidnapping numbers to present the problem as one border related kidnapping every day?
Operation Home Defense (SAP Grant Number 480201) was presented to the federal government to obtain grant money ($1.7M) to address the issue of border related kidnappings on 8-1-2009.
The grant manager was listed as Lt. Laurel Burgett.
On 10-26-09 Laurel Burgett signed a form where she assured the federal government that it was her “responsibility to keep appropriate documentation and statistics (emphasis in the signed document) that verify the effectiveness of all grant expenditures in accordance with the intent of the grant funding agency.”
One wonders if Lt. Burgett’s involvement along with retired Sgt. Andy Hill in a media company named Money Drop Productions LLC created a conflict in her ability to meet the obligation she signed for.
One wonders if the video from Money Drop Productions compromised the integrity of not only investigations but the ability to accurately report statistics to the federal government.
One wonders if the dissolution of Money Drop Productions on 12-10-10 was in any way connected with the commencement of the OIG investigation surrounding the false kidnapping numbers.
One wonders why Lt. Burgett didn’t share this information with the kidnapping panel on 4-11-11 and if she obtained Department permission (as required by PPD Operations order 3.13 6. B. (10)) to engage in outside work.
One wonders if other managers of Money Drop Productions have been present with video equipment at and during on-duty police operations (i.e. SAU search warrants, etc) with permission from a police chief or a member of the City Council.
One wonders if there’s a connection between inflated kidnapping numbers, federal grant money for wages, on-duty police operations, and Money Drop Productions and if this connection created a conflict and interest and a compromise in providing effective and efficient law enforcement services to our community.
Perhaps probing a little deeper will bring answers to the following questions recently asked by two of the members of the City's panel charged with independently looking into the issue of flawed kidnapping statistics.
Judge Ryan: "Was there some sort of exaggeration to Congress to get the funds"?
Judge Patterson: "Why was '358' defended so vigorously"?
AND FURTHER MORE EVEN THE CONTENTS ON THE VIDEO ARE ESCHEWED TO SHOW BORDER RELATED KIDNAPPINGS THAT ARE NOT!!! more on that later.....

Lt. Burgett was vigorously pursing a deal for a reality show, book deal, and movie deal about the border related kidnappings.....her trips, including the one to England, was to enhance her credibility. This is a known fact that she openly discussed with amongst others, the Sgt. who was responsible for putting forth information to the public and had a huge stake in this issue: No other than Sgt. Andy Hill....Now if you think that for a second, the 4th floor did not know about this endeavor...and why is it that even today ppl who will remain unnamed for "now" keep supporting this LT? what is it that she knows about YOU? There is no way, unless the Federal Government is serious about uncovering the corruption that is PHX PD, that the Gov. will ever uncover any information that PD does not want the government to uncover. When outside agencies are hired by Chiefs who have a future tit for tat stake in these agencies and who are given ONLY the information that the Department provides, and the Department claims is the "truth and nothing" but, what chance does the public have of ever having a department that is lead by people with integrity.
And why is the City manager's office playing both sides of the fence? You know that you are with holding vital information. Would you rather clean the city now, or risk the possibility that some employees in the known will see that there is no hope and go public with all that they know?
Lt. Jim Burgett (Lauri’s husband and the guy whose face you blocked out) is pissed about what you said about his wife Lauri. Why did you block out his face and are your scared he will find you? Watch your back BPC.
Lieutenants on the Phoenix PD have been racking up questionable stand by and overtime for years sometimes making themselves highly paid employees at the taxpayers expense. At most crime scenes a lieutenant is a useless tool, the detectives and sergeants can get the work done and within the city there are always several patrol lieutenants on duty at any given time. The person who financially benefited the most from the incorrect kidnapping stats? Not the chief, assistants or commanders, they are all salaried.
