I don’t know the specific circumstances but he put his hand up her blouse and felt her tits. Jeff Gordon texted her afterwards to remind her to not tell his wife. The supervisor showed the text to PSB.
Not too many people survive an EEOC touching episode, so Gordon’s career may have ended as a cop. If for some reason he gets off on this, it will be a miracle and at the personal request of Jack Harris. Keep up the good work,

I just read your update and yeah, it is harsh at times and needs to be, but I just think going after Sgt. Drenth and his wife is wrong. If the man committed suicide he deserves pity, he must have been in a lot of pain to take his own life. And even if his wife did leave him, I'm sure she has suffered too. I don't mind paying for the cost of his funeral, because death, regardless of the circumstances, does not subtract from the life he saved while on duty, and the great things he did with his life.
According to WHO, every 30 seconds, some kills themselves. That’s 3000 per day.
Life is tough. Everyone knows someone who has taken their own life. If Colleen Drenth wanted a funeral for her dead husband, she should have paid for it on her own like the other 2999 people did that day. Because a cop offs himself doesn't mean we need to drop 250 large on it.

I don't know about the others, but you're wrong about Authment again. It is well know that this is a simple case of self defense. In fact, the "victim" didn't even call police until after learning Authement was a cop days later. Oh, and the only reason this case is still open is because super detective Theron Quaas is the one investigating it!!
Although I'm a new reader to your blog (and never intended to comment on any stories,) I felt it necessary to comment on Sgt. Drenth's funeral. I saw your comments regarding the cost of the funeral, but I curerntly attend CCV (where it was held) and our church does free funerals.
In a sense, taxpayer money was used as the parishioners who donate to the church ultimately paid, but I just wanted to make sure you understood that our church doesn't charge for funerals. We don't just do them for public safety employees, but for anyone who needs a funeral and may not have the funds to do it. We've been doing it for awhile now. I'm not a religious freak, I'm not upset, I'm not going to stop reading your blog. I just wanted to make it known that CCV did not charge for the funeral of Sean Drenth or any other funeral that has taken palce the last 2 years.
With that exception, I do enjoy reading your blog. Keep it up. Thanks!
Well thanks for the kudos on the blog. We haven’t received so much feedback on a subject since we saw Mike Polombo in his video.
Listen up – our point is simple. Drenth killed himself and traditionally funerals aren’t done for cops who commit suicide. As a matter of record tell us of one funeral that was done for a suicide cop? It’s a good practice since we shouldn’t be glorifying suicide. Jack Harris knew this (or had a pretty good hunch and even his good hunches tend to indict people) so why not err on the side of caution and not have such a grandiose funeral? It was a bad time for him with Chrisman and then Drenth. He needed this funeral to make himself look good and by not having it would have admitted to the suicide. Jacks a sly dog and plays his cards well.
Thanks for pointing out that CCV doesn’t charge and it’s equally nice to know you aren’t one of those Pentecostal Jesus freaks. There was however a lot of money and resources spent in travel, gas and time of officers, including the traffic. While many of you think it was bad form for us to point this out, we think it was bad form to have it.
What would have been tasteful would have been for Ms. Drenth to step up, admit openly that she and Sean were on the skids and have her own private funeral and deal with her problems privately.
Since ours (and yours) tax dollars paid for this, we will comment on it and point out the waste of spending on a suicide’s funeral.
Sean Drenth may have preformed a`heroic deed with rescuing those people in the fire, but he sure didn’t die in the line of duty. That’s like saying Anthony Brokaw was shot in the line of duty, when he shot himself in the ass holstering his gun.

Can you check with Diana Stabler of the POST to see if Jack Harris is still a certified Peace Officer? If he isn't,then isn't illegal for him to wear that uniform in public? (Even if he is still certified, I think retired officers have to have permission to wear their uniforms in public. Does he have a letter?) Maybe a PLEA officer would make an arrest?
I used to attend Peace Officer Standard & Training Board meetings. I was still attending when Jack Harris retired as Chief of Police.
Harris was still sitting on the POST Board after that. Then I wrote to Terry Goddard cc:'d to Diana Stabler (the Ass't AG for the POST) about something, and incidentally pointed out that POST rules required a Chief of Police to sit. Shortly after my letter, Harris resigned from the POST Board.
I don't know if that was due to my letter. I don't recall receiving a response. I had also showed a KPHO video to the Board at a public meeting about Harris' buddy Snodgrass getting away with the nude photo of his wife on his PC. (The Linnea Knowles thing.)

I read the article in the New Times today regarding their recent
review of the PPD's kidnapping statistics. The author of the
article was careful to point out that: "A New Times analysis of 264
of the 358 reported kidnappings shows that only about one out of
every four incidents labeled as kidnappings in 2008 appeared
connected to border-related crimes." Yes, only 1 out of every 4
the PPD counted as "kidnappings".
In this article they reported: "When KPHO, a local news station,
also raised questions about Phoenix's kidnapping statistics,
Cavazos wrote to the station's general manager: 'It is important to
state clearly that we have verified several times the accuracy of
the kidnapping statistics generated by the Phoenix Police
Department,' he wrote on December 15, 2010. We are available to
discuss and review our home invasion and kidnapping statistics,
which have been thoroughly reviewed and vetted..."
Cavazos told New Times that he has been repeatedly assured by
Phoenix police officials that those cases were correctly classified
as kidnappings. He said they are now awaiting the outcome of the
federal review. "I have to trust what the experts are telling me,"
he said.
Well in my opinion it looks like Cavasoz may have not truthfully
reported the whole story. Remember that Sgt. Phil Roberts wrote
numerous memos to Cavasoz telling him the kidnapping stats were
inaccurate. Cavasoz responded by stating they were accurate.
Then PLEA asked Cavasoz several times to verify the kidnapping
numbers. Cavasoz responded by stating they were accurate.
The City Councilman Sal DiCiccio asked Cavasoz to verify the
kidnapping numbers. Cavasoz once again reported they were
accurate.
Then PLEA wrote a letter to Cavasoz telling him PLEA did there own
review of the kidnapping statistics and they weren't even close to
what Cavasoz was saying. Cavasoz still reported they were
accurate.
Consider this, Cavasoz had about six separate opportunities from
three separate people to see if the kidnapping statistics were
accurate. Instead of tending to his "Fiduciary Responsibilities"
(remember this phrase, it is coming up later) and actually
verifying if the kidnapping statistics were in fact accurate, he
just seem to have said, "If Chief Harris says they are accurate,
that is good enough for me!"
Cavasoz's Fiduciary Responsibility was to have a third, objective,
party do a review of the kidnapping statistics since so many others
were proving them to be inaccurate. Geez Cavasoz, why didn't you
simply make a call to a third, objective, party, one you are
responsible for, called the 'City Auditor's Department' to come in
and take a look at the kidnapping numbers so you wouldn't violate
your "Fiduciary Responsibility" again. One call, that is all
Cavasoz had to do but it was easier to say: "Fuck everyone else,
they are accurate".

Remember the phrase "Fiduciary Responsibility...." Am I the only
one who remembers that back in October 2010, City Manager David
Cavasoz was hired by the City Council and Mayor even though he had
recently been suspended for one week for: "Showing a disregard for
his fiduciary responsibilities as Assistant City Manager."
Remember this was for "Travelgate" where Cavasoz misused city funds
by flying first class on city business? Remember part of the
Council and Mayor's approval to hire Cavasoz last year was: "The
council said they will put an ethics clause in Cavazos' contract,
which means they could fire him......". Wow! This "Ethics Clause"
really worked out didn't it?
It is my opinion that Phoenix City Manager David Cavasoz, once
again, "Showed a disregard for his Fiduciary Responsibilities"
(City Council's words in October 2006, not mine), and should be
fired immediately!
Cavasoz had his first chance and he blew it with Travelgate. The
City Council gave him a golden second chance but he blew that also.
Are they going to give him a third chance now?

I have a funny story to tell you. Yesterday after my shift I decided to get a haircut. While I was there my barber said “rumor is a few people are going to be arrested over those kidnapping numbers” and “they are trying to figure out a way to get that guy who runs that website” do you believe it?
